Recently some of the Rivelin Robotics team were conducting training for the latest Netshape Robot installation. The NS1.0-300 system has been deployed to 71 (Inspect and Repair) Squadron, part of the Support Force at RAF Wittering in Cambridgeshire, UK.
71(IR) Squadron currently runs multiple metal additive manufacturing processes, together with advanced XCT scanning capabilities at its dedicated facility. The bottleneck in the production process for the team has always been the post-processing of metal parts — a lengthy, labour-intensive and messy undertaking. The installation of the Rivelin Netshape Robot is intended to greatly reduce these post-processing challenges by using automation.
In the picture, 71(IR) Squadron are testing out the Netshape recipes they created on a Titanium component with their new NS1.0-300 Rivelin cell on the final day of training.
