3D printing on its own is inherently automated, but the complete additive manufacturing process is not. The difference is postprocessing. Automated production via additive manufacturing will need automated postprocessing. Rivelin Robotics is equipping robots with the capabilities needed for critical, fine-detail finishing of metal 3D printed parts.
“When it comes to automating additive manufacturing, postprocessing is the biggest pain,”
says Robert Bush, CEO of Rivelin Robotics. The UK startup has launched new, patented robotic technology focused on AM’s postprocessing needs.
Rivelin Robotics debuted its system for postprocessing metal AM parts at Formnext 2022. The full article and a video interview with none other than Peter Zelinski of Additive Manufacturing Media can be watched on their website here.
